Alex Harris - Personal Training

Whether you have a specific training goal in mind, want to improve your quality of life or just trim down and feel better - I can devise a training strategy for you and help you achieve your goals!

I'm passionate about ensuring that my clients enjoy the training they are taking on and are educated to make the right lifestyle decisions going forward.

It's my philosophy that employing a trainer should not be a long term commitment. All my training sessions are individually tailored to kick start your new healthier, active life and empower you with the knowledge, motivation and skills to continue pursuing your dream body.

Why personal training is for you

I've been immobilised for months with serious injuries, I've worked desk jobs for years and I've been well above healthy weight ranges for my age. I've overcome all of these hurdles and achieved my fitness goals. Whatever your position or perceived barrier to a healthier life, I've been there and know how to get you past it too.

Give me a call and together we'll enable you to get the most out of life!

Immobilised in straight leg splints for months during high school due to reconstructive surgery on both knees, I fell behind my peers in competitive ability at sport and became less confident with how I felt about myself as my weight blew out.

With the help of a personal trainer I was able to regain my fitness, manage my rehabilitation and achieve better results in sporting competition than I'd ever imagined possible. With the knowledge and confidence my trainer had imparted, I would go on to win a NSW State Championship in rowing, the Head of the River and Captain the First Volleyball team for my college as well as playing representative golf for my home club.

After leaving school I achieved a University Blue for Touch Football, having represented the Australian Combined Universities side whilst completing a Bachelor of Applied Finance/Bachelor of Commerce double degree.

I then worked for three years in funds management, where I let my fitness lapse and my weight again got the better of me as I made poor decisions about my health. Since resigning from this role I have resolved to not only get myself fit and healthy again but help others in similar positions do the same.

Recently I have completed the "Wildside Mountain Bike Race" in Tasmania, from Cradle Mountain to Strahan, won 3 gold medals and 1 bronze at the recent NSW club rowing championships, competed as a grinder in the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week for sailing and commenced competing as a surf boat rower for Palm Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

With specialised training in nutrition, resistance training and sports conditioning I can devise a program to have you looking and feeling your best. My vast sporting background and training knowledge also allow me to effectively individualise specific training routines if you have a sporting goal in mind from golf to running, rowing to rugby.

Types of training programs I offer:

- Quality of Life (for those who want to get active and improve their general fitness)

- Sport Specific (designed to have you at your peak for sporting competition)

- School Age (weight loss, self-confidence boosting sessions and or sport specific improvement training)

- Summer Days (get that beach bod you've always wanted)

I pride myself on the vast training background I can offer my clients. I am a qualified personal trainer and have achieved the Level 3 and Level 4 Certificates in Fitness. I am a level 2 NCAS (National Coaching Accreditation Scheme) coach for rowing and have 6 years experience as a GPS and university level rowing coach.

I am university educated with a double degree in Applied Finance and Commerce-Accounting and have been awarded a University Blue for national team representation. I also possess senior first aid qualifications and am currently pursuing the Bronze Medallion qualification for surf life saving.

Training is outdoor based on the Lane Cove River, parks local to the Northwood, Greenwich, Longueville area and a private swimming pool is also available. Indoor facilities are also available for no additional cost.
